Harpers Plumbing

How Harper’s Plumbing grew its digital presence with a warmer brand, stronger SEO, and clearer lead tracking

About Harpers Plumbing

Harper’s Plumbing is a family-run plumbing company based in Calgary, Alberta. They have built their reputation on thoughtful service, strong workmanship, and a small-town approach that feels personal in a city-sized market.

Their brand already had something most plumbing companies struggle to create: real personality. From locally sourced pickle jars with the message “When you’re in a pickle, we are here to help,” to shut-off valve tags, coffee-inspired messaging, and a website experience built around warmth and familiarity, Harper’s Plumbing had a clear identity.

What they needed was a digital foundation that could support the next stage of growth.

They partnered with Local Propeller in April 2025 to improve their website, strengthen SEO and GEO visibility, increase lead volume for core services, improve tracking, and build a clearer reporting system around what was actually driving new business.

The Challenge

Before we started, Harper’s Plumbing had strong customer relationships and a memorable brand, but its online presence did not fully reflect the company’s quality.

A few key issues were holding them back:

  • Their website did not fully capture the warmth, care, and personal service customers experienced in real life.
  • Tracking was incomplete and inconsistent, making it harder to understand which channels were driving calls, forms, and online bookings.
  • Core services like drain cleaning, leak detection, sewer camera inspections, and water treatment needed stronger organic visibility.
  • Website content needed to be refined to focus on real search intent, not just general plumbing topics.
  • Service area growth needed a stronger foundation, especially for Diamond Valley, High River, and nearby foothills communities.
  • Reporting needed to be clearer, so the team could see where leads were coming from and how marketing was supporting business growth.
  • With over 500 5-star Google reviews, Harper’s Plumbing was already doing the right things offline. The opportunity was to bring that same clarity, care, and consistency into their digital presence.

What We Delivered

Harper’s Plumbing moved forward with a full digital marketing program that included a website redesign, local SEO, GEO strategy, paid search, tracking and reporting, and ongoing growth support.

Website Redesign & Restructuring

We redesigned the website to better reflect the company that customers already knew in person.

The goal was not to create a generic plumbing site. It was to build a digital experience that felt like Harper’s Plumbing: warm, personal, practical, and professional.

We redesigned all major service pages, improved page structure, refined calls to action, and added more brand elements throughout the site, including the Pickle Plumber section.

The new website gave Harper’s a clearer platform for growth while keeping the personality that makes the company memorable.

SEO, GEO & Content Strategy

We rebuilt the SEO foundation around the services and locations that mattered most.

This included keyword research, metadata rewrites, heading structure improvements, internal linking, schema markup, technical SEO, indexing checks, sitemap submission, and Google Search Console cleanup.

We also created and refined content around high-intent services such as:

  • Drain cleaning
  • Leak detection
  • Sewer camera inspections
  • Water treatment
  • Plumbing services in key service areas

The strategy also supported Harper’s long-term expansion into Diamond Valley, High River, and nearby foothill communities by building stronger local relevance in the areas where they want to grow.

Service Page & Blog Content Expansion

We rewrote and expanded service content so the site could better match how homeowners search for help.

Instead of relying on broad plumbing content, the website was structured around specific problems, services, and locations. This helped improve relevance for both search engines and AI-driven discovery tools.

Blog and article strategy also became part of the long-term plan, supporting educational searches while strengthening the site’s topical authority around drains, leak detection, inspections, water treatment, and local plumbing needs.

Google Ads & Local Service Ads

We managed Google Ads and Local Service Ads to support lead generation while SEO continued to grow.

Campaigns were built around high-intent service searches, with improved conversion tracking for calls, forms, and online bookings.

Paid search became a clearer, more measurable part of the growth system, with average cost per conversion staying below $30.

Tracking, Analytics & Reporting

A major part of the project was improving clarity.

We rebuilt and refined tracking across GA4, Google Tag Manager, call tracking, form tracking, HouseCall Pro booking actions, quote request form tracking, thank-you page tracking, Google Ads conversions, Local Service Ads reporting, and dashboard reporting.

This gave Harper’s Plumbing a clearer view of which channels were driving leads and how customers were moving through the website.

Instead of relying on scattered or unclear reporting, they now had a more reliable system for understanding performance.

Google Business Profile & Local Visibility

We optimized Harper’s Google Business Profile to better support local search visibility.

This included service and category updates, ongoing posts, local search improvements, and stronger alignment between the website, GBP, and service area strategy.

For a company focused on established southwest Calgary neighbourhoods and expansion into nearby foothill communities, local visibility was a key piece of the overall strategy.

The Results

The impact was clear across traffic, organic search visibility, paid search performance, and lead generation.

Website Growth

From the early 2025 baseline to May 2026, website sessions grew by more than 400 percent.

This showed that the new strategy was bringing more people to the website and helping Harper’s Plumbing build a stronger digital presence over time.

Organic Search Growth

Organic clicks from Google Search Console increased by more than 425 percent from the early 2025 baseline to May 2026.

At the strongest point in the campaign, organic clicks had grown by more than 640 percent compared to the early baseline.

This growth reflected stronger keyword alignment, improved page structure, better content relevance, and a more complete SEO foundation.

Lead Growth

Website leads grew by more than 300 percent, rising from the previous monthly average to a much stronger, more consistent lead volume.

Calls, forms, and online booking actions are now tracked more clearly, giving Harper’s Plumbing better insight into how marketing is contributing to real customer opportunities.

Paid Search Performance

Google Ads performance remained efficient, with average cost per conversion staying below $30.

This helped support consistent lead generation while SEO and local visibility continued to build momentum.

Ranking Improvements

Harper’s Plumbing also earned strong ranking improvements for important service and location-based searches.

Examples include:

  • First-position rankings for expanded service area pages related to drain cleaning and plumber searches.
  • First-position visibility for water leak detection.
  • Top-three visibility for sewer camera inspection in Calgary.
  • These rankings are especially valuable because they align with services Harper’s Plumbing is actively trying to grow.

What This Means for the Client

Harper’s Plumbing now has a digital presence that feels much closer to its customers’ in-person experience.

The website is warmer, clearer, and more personal than a standard plumbing website. It highlights the brand’s small-town-rooted service style while still giving customers a direct path to call, request a quote, or book online.

The marketing system is also much stronger behind the scenes.

SEO and GEO improvements are helping Harper’s show up more often for core service searches. Paid search is generating measurable leads at an efficient cost. Tracking is clearer. Reporting is easier to understand. The website now provides the company with a platform to keep growing through content, ads, local campaigns, and service area expansion.

For Harper’s Plumbing, this was not just a website redesign. It was a stronger foundation for growth in the next chapter of the business.
